Today the King family headed south to Ogunquit. Ogunquit was thought to be named by the Abenaki as "place of waves", or by the Algonquins as "beautiful place by the sea". And we soon found it - it lives up to its name. There are beautiful victorian hotels, B&B, motels, etc. The beach is @3.5 miles long.
But by far our favorite location is Perkins Cove. Perkins Cove is like this quaint little fishing community. But more importantly it is one of the entrances to Marginal Way. Marginal Way is this incredible walkway along the cliffs around the ocean. The walk is about 1.4 miles. There are benchs every couple hundred feet - 1) so you can take a break or 2) you can just sit and relax and enjoy the sights and sounds. There are also rocks for the kids to climb on. Great photo ops. We were even able to watch some surfers! I think by far this is definately my FAVORITE location so far.
After walking Marginal Way we headed into Perkins Cove and the kids got a well deserved treat of homemade fudge. We walked around the little center, and it started pouring (again). We decided to head back towards home. The boys asked to go to Remys, and then we stopped in to rent 2 movies at RedBox (got love those $1 movies)
We returned home and after a pork chop dinner, we watched Madagascar 2 and 7 Pounds. Everyone went to bed - tuckered out from the days hike.

Trivia - There is a famous theater in the town we visited today...What is its name and when did it open?
